Successful Fitting of the MultiFokus™ Contact Lens

Indications:   Ametropia with greater than or equal to +2.50D/up to -3.00D cyl with add power from
0.00 to +1.25D.  Monovision enhancements may be done by adding +0.50D (in 0.25 steps) to
non-dominant eye for patients needing greater add power. The lens minimizes radical power
differences between eyes when used for monovision treatments in presbyopia.

Fit: 1) The MultiFokus GP™ Contact Lens fits like any other single vision gas permeable lens.
      2) Fit On-K with a 9.5 mm diameter.  If corneal cylinder is greater than or equal to 1.50D (not
to exceed 3.00D cyl) steepen the base curve by 1.00D and change the power accordingly.
      3) Before ordering the final MultiFokus™ lens, add +0.25D to each lens.

TIP!  Refit previous rigid lens wearers using similiar parameters if acceptable.  The
MultiFokus GP™ base curve must be within 1.00D of patient's flat K reading.

Recommended Base Curve Range: 7.20 to 8.20 radii
Recommended Diameter Ranges: 9.0- 9.7 mm (9.5 first choice)

¹Material (recommended):  Boston RxD, Flourperm 30, Boston Equalens, Paragon HDS

Follow up/ Dispense:  Distance acuity test must be done OU starting with the 20/30 or 20/40
line. Each eye may see differently .  Acuity should be safely acceptable. For close vision testing,
hold reading material at about 50 cm straight in front of patient's eyes.  The patient is asked to
follow magazine material down to about a 45 degree angle to improve clarity.  IMPORTANT:
Help patient find the area most visually comfortable. Part time readers may be needed for more
visually demanding tasks or consider monovision enhancement by adding +0.50D to one lens.

Slit Lamp: Alignment to slight apical clearance with fluorscein.
¹Lens Care Solution (recommended): Claris or Boston Gas Perm Solutions.
